Education and Training

NIBCA is committed to playing a strong role in addressing the need for a trained construction workforce for our members:

Future Workforce

To educate our young people on the benefits of choosing a career in construction, NIBCA’s Education Committee is actively working with the Rockford school system as well as outreach to other area schools to form a partnership that can produce better outcomes for students and increase the pool of candidates for employers.  Job site visits, training programs with hands on applications and guest speakers at schools are part of the partnership package to promote the different career paths students can take to build their careers in construction.

Professional Development

Continuing education of employees is one of the primary concerns of the construction industry.  The education and training programs are designed to meet both the general and specific needs of today’s contractor.  NIBCA offers OSHA updates, CPR Classes, webinars, and the Breakfast Series meetings on a variety of topics to continue to expand our resources to meet the ever-growing needs of our members through programs we offer locally and also program available from the AGC of America.
